It's possible one of Anne's agents rejected it for her reasons without informing her. The initial decision was to play the role by Glen Larson who sent her a very preliminary script for a role in the 1978 TV series Battlestar Galactica. She originally rejected the position because she felt that the character wasn't strong enough. Glen developed a different character to play Sheba, which was much stronger. The Living Legend was accepted following her reading of the original 25 page script. The film ran for one season. The show was cancelled after one season.
